Driving Directions
For a weekend section hike, you may want to bring two vehicles to the trail so that you can shuttle
yourselves from one end of your chosen section to the other. First, you will need to park your
“finish hike vehicle” at your section’s northern terminus and then drive your “start hike vehicle” down
to your section’s southern terminus.

Northern Terminus / Park Finish Hike Vehicle First
13.1 ~ AL 21 / CR 41 TRAILHEAD
    Begin in the old downtown district of Sylacauga at the intersection of AL 21 and AL 148.
    Go south on AL 21 for 6.0 miles to Stewartville, AL at the intersection of CR 41, just past Slim
    and Slicks Bar-B-Que, on the right.
    Park your finish hike vehicle here. Day or overnight parking may be available at Slim and Slicks
    Bar-B-Que.

Southern Terminus / Park Start Hike Vehicle
0.0 ~ FLAGG MOUNTAIN TRAILHEAD
    From the AL 21 / CR 41 Trailhead, turn right on CR 41.
    Go 0.2 miles to the stop sign. Turn left. You are still on CR 41.
    Go 6.4 miles to the 4 way stop sign in Weogufka, AL. Turn right on CR 56.
    Go 3.3 miles to the 4 way stop sign in Unity, AL. Turn left on CR 55.
    Go 0.8 miles to the first dirt road on the left, Flagg Mountain Road. Turn left.
    Go 1.7 miles to the Cabin Road, on the left - continue on Flagg Mountain Road,to the right.
    Go 0.7 miles to the top of Flagg Mountain. The gated CCC Tower driveway will be on your left.
    Park your start hike vehicle here. There is no parking area as of August, 2007 but there are
    places to park on the edge of the road without blocking it or the tower driveway.

Southern Terminus / Start Hike
0.0 ~ FLAGG MOUNTAIN TRAILHEAD ~ 1152'
    Begin by going back down Flagg Mountain Road from the gated CCC Fire Tower driveway.
2.4 ~ CR 55
    Flagg Mountain Road ends here at CR 55. Turn right.
3.2 ~ UNITY, AL
    Turn right on CR 56 at the 4 way stop sign.
6.5 ~ WEOGUFKA, AL
    Turn left (north) on CR 29 at the 4 way stop sign.
     Convenience Store ~ At the stop sign.
6.7 ~ TOODLIN'S GROCERY / CR 41 FORK
    When you reach the abandoned store, CR 29 goes past the store on the left side and CR 41 forks
    off to the right just before the store. Go right on CR 41.
12.9 ~ CR 41 FORK
    You'll come to a house on the right with a wagon wheel built into the driveway gate. CR 41 forks
    off to the right just past this driveway. Go right on CR 41.
13.1 ~ AL 21 / CR 41 TRAILHEAD
    This section ends at the AL 21 / CR 41 intersection.
    There is a Dollar General here at the intersection. There is also a convenience store a little
    ways up AL 21, to the left. Both are good for short term re-supply.
