12.6 ~ AL 21 TRAILHEAD

Begin from the old downtown district of Sylacauga, AL at the intersection of AL 21 and AL 148.
Go south on AL 21 for 6.0 miles to the Trailhead at the intersection of AL 21 and CR 41 / CR 155.
Day or overnight parking may be available at Dollar General.

From the AL 21 Trailhead, turn right on CR 41 / CR 155. Go 0.2 miles to the stop sign. Turn left on CR 41.
Go 6.4 miles to the 4 way stop sign in Weogufka, AL. CR 41 changed to CR 29 just before reaching the downtown area.
Go straight through the 4 way for 5.2 miles to CR 16. Turn right.
Go 0.1 miles and cross an old one lane creek bridge with no guardrails.
Go 0.5 miles to a dirt road on the right. This is the CCC road to the top of Flagg Mtn.
Go 1.7 miles to the Flagg Mtn. Trailhead, on right.

This view spot is 0.4 miles past the last spring crossing. The winter tower view is behind you, so after hiking 15 or 20 minutes (uphill) past the spring, start looking back over your left shoulder :)

Reach a well developed dirt road (logging road). Turn left.

This is the end of the woods trail portion of section 1. Turn right on CR 56 and go 0.7 miles to the 4 way stop in downtown Weogufka.

END FLAGG LOWLANDS
BEGIN ALABAMA ROAD WALK

6.0 ~ WEOGUFKA ~ CS, RW ~ 647'
At the 4 way stop sign in the center of town, turn left onto CR 29.
CS, RW ~ Look for Caperton's old south store at the 4 way stop.
6.2 ~ OLD STORE ON THE LEFT (CLOSED) / CR 29 – CR 41
CR 29 goes past the store on the left and CR 41 goes past the store on the right. Go right on CR41.
9.9 ~ PASS FERGUSON ROAD
The road walk continues on CR 41. Ferguson road is on the right.
12.4 ~ CR 41 FORK
Go right. There is a driveway on the right at this fork with decorative wagon wheels.
12.6 ~ AL 21 TRAILHEAD ~ CS, TT, RW, HS ~ 728'
CS, RW ~ Dollar General across the road.
TT, HS ~ Go left on al 21 for 6.0 miles to Sylacauga.
