Pinhoti Section Changes
Section Re-numbering
The section re-numbering will give the general public an impression that
the PNRT is a single, unified trail that passes through two states. The
numbering system that we are using now gives the impression that this is a
patchwork of 2 different trails through 2 states that were joined together.
Section Re-alignment
The section re-alignment is meant to give vehicle access to the beginning and ending
points for all of our sections. The vast majority of our trail visitors are weekend section
hikers and I've received a lot of complaints over the last couple of years that some of
our section - begin / end points, those that are two or three miles out in the woods, are
causing some logistical problems for them.
