Pinhoti Trail Summits in Alabama
The Pinhoti Trail either crosses over or sidehills around
the summit of 14 of the 100 Highest Named Summits in Alabama.
Please note that only what is considered a named summit by the
US Geological Survey is on the top 100 list.
Talladega Mountain (Section 5,6, part of 7) is the highest mountain in the state at 2407'.
Many of its summits are named, with the highest one being Mt. Cheaha.
Dugger Mountain (Section 11) is the second highest mountain in the state at 2140'.
Dugger does not have a "named summit" for it's highest peak, so it did not make the 100
Highest Named Summits list for this reason,
