The Post Offices around the Pinhoti Trail probably aren't too familiar with hikers sending stuff to themselves, but General Delivery is a service that has been provided by the USPS for years and you shouldn't have any problems.
If you are in doubt, need directions or operating hours, the phone numbers are listed here.
Don’t assume all PO’s have normal business hours ~ They do not :)
Please mark all of your packages with the following information:
ATTN: Hold for Pinhoti Trail Hiker
ETA 00 / 00 (appx. date you'll pick it up)
City, State and Zip Code of Post Office
Holding times may vary, but most PO's around the Appalachian Trail will hold a package for 2 weeks. Be sure to include a return (home) address on your package in case you don't make the pick up. They will return it to the address you sent it from, at no extra charge (Return to Sender).
